Art Gallery

The Henderson Fine Arts Gallery hosts monthly exhibits showcasing a variety of mediums and subjects featuring work by local and regional artists.

Built in 1994, the Henderson Fine Arts Center featured many new additions to the San Juan College campus, including an art wing that includes the space where the Art Gallery is now used today. The Gallery seeks to integrate art into our everyday experience by bringing in diverse work for the enjoyment and education of our students and community.

Permanent Art Collection at San Juan College

The San Juan College Permanent Art Collection includes over 1,000 works of art and features a wide variety of mediums, primarily painting, textiles, ceramics, photography, sculpture, and many forms of printmaking. The collection, acquired through a combination of donation and purchase over a 40-year period, contains work from notable regional artists as well as pieces created by SJC faculty and students. From stunning landscapes to moving portraiture, the subject matter in the collection resonates with the SJC community and celebrates the unique culture of the Four Corners region. Works from the Permanent Art Collection can be found displayed throughout the SJC Main Campus as well as the East, West, and 30th Street locations.

Native American Rugs Donated by Mr. and Mrs. Culpepper.

In late 2011, San Juan College received a large donation of Native American rugs from long-time Farmington residents Bob and Mary Culpepper. They support the college in many ways and are interested in preserving this ancient art form. Each rug is a unique artwork, and many of the Rugs have been framed and displayed throughout the San Juan College campus.
